I Help Leaders Align Who They Are With
How They Lead
I wanted to be an astronaut, for the view.
Small-town Alabama. Single mom. Nothing to lose, so I hitched my wagon to the stars.
I grew up the kid of two data people. My dad led telemetry at Cape Canaveral, tracking the space shuttles. My mom taught statistics and supercomputing in the ’80s, a single-mom PhD in rooms where nobody looked or sounded like her. In our house, IQ was everything.
Perspective and data have obsessed me ever since. Data tells you where you are. Perspective tells you where you could go. That is the heart of the Purpose Value Creation Plan™: an honest base case, and the upside case worth building.
Education was my passport.
Mom’s mantra sent me on a 20-year sprint across the globe with Kodak, adidas, Bain, PepsiCo and Foot Locker. A decade of living and working internationally taught me to read the room, even when I didn’t speak the language. A public-company officer seat before 40. Then private equity: a $450B AUM operating partner, talent partner, founder and board member.
It looked impressive from the outside. It felt untethered on the inside. At nearly 40 I was cash rich and love poor, the exact opposite of how I grew up. So I came home, and married my fourth-grade sweetheart, Chris, a tennis pro living with MS. On a doctor’s form, with no title to write under “occupation”, I wrote: being human.

Who am I?
It's the hardest question to ever answer.
I'm not just one thing. I'm not just a coach. Or a strategist. Or a founder. I'm an accumulation of experiences—each one offering a different lens through which I help others lead.
Nonchalant means not caring. I built a firm on the opposite.
Chalant Capital works at the intersection of capital, leadership, and human potential. The premise is simple: what you’re willing to risk is set by what you actually care about.
People say my superpower is discernment. It’s strategic, refined over 30 years of operating at the highest levels. My work blends strategy and values. Metrics and meaning. Performance and purpose.
The capital in the name is human. Every diamond is carbon, and so is every person on your leadership team. Pressure and time turn one into the other.
What I Do Now, And Why It Works.
Today I’m an investor and executive coach. I coach CXOs, high‑potential leaders and founders in scale mode, and the leadership teams around them, from founders at $20M to executives at $12B.
After 28 years leading across 5 continents, I’ve sat in the seats my clients now hold: operator, operating partner, talent partner, founder, board director.
I apply investor thinking to leadership. Know your base case, build your upside case, and close the gap. Metrics and meaning. Performance and purpose.
Where I Generate Energy
When I'm not advising leaders, I split my time between the Hudson Valley, NY and Roatan, Honduras.
I generate energy underwater when I'm scuba diving. The ocean has taught me to let go of control, to let the current carry me to places in flow, and to be a kid again—full of wonder, play, and exploration.
I get out of my head and into my soul there. My best friend calls me a pearl diver into other people—and it's true both above and below water.

You won’t spend the first month explaining your world to me.
"Tracey's uncanny ability to derive meaning from the unspoken is a gift. Her operator credibility, strategic depth, and no B.S. style bring transformative clarity."
— PE-BACKED CEO
I've done a lot of things. I've been a lot of things. Now, I've become simply Tracey—and my measure of success is time well spent.
You've got nothing left to prove. But everything ahead to become.
If you’re ready for the next version of your leadership, let’s talk.
